Will the whining...

ever stop? Callen has been sick since Tuesday. The last couple of days it has just been a chest cold and coughing. Today has been horrible in terms of whining... Maybe it just seems worse b/c both Bo and I now have her cold.

Any suggestions for how to curb the whining?

Fever, Fever, Go Away

We got a call Wed. afternoon that Callen was running a high temperature. I rushed to pick her up and take her to the doctor. She has strep; doctor gave us an antibiotic and said she wouldn't mind taking it. Yeah right! It is white liquid and smells fruity. Taking it in a spoon doesn't work; taking it in milk worked once; hiding it in juice - oh no! We even tried mixing it in ice cream but she must have smelled it or something as she would have nothing to do with it.

My poor baby! I hope she's getting better. She's eaten almost nothing for 2 days until dinner tonite. Callen and I are in Atlantic Beach; my friend Dianne came down to spend a few days with us. We went out to dinner and this is the first meal where she's eaten more than 2 or 3 bites in 2 days.

Any suggestions for getting her to take her medicine? I hate the idea of holding her down and forcing her to take it. If she got even a quarter of her dose today I'd be surprised. Please send advice soon! Thanks.

Fever and Toddlers

Tuesday late afternoon we got a call about Callen being sick (running a fever) at her school. We kept a check on her that night, then took her to the doctor on Wed. No strept, no ear infection, nothing abnormal, and no fever. So, back to school she went on Thursday. We get a call at noon today. She had a temp of 103.7 at noon. Bo takes her back to the doctor; again, no signs of anything abnormal. The school and doctor said there's some type of fever virus going around now.

Poor baby! She is feeling pretty miserable tonite. Tuesday night and Wed. she played and didn't appear to feel bad. But, tonite you can definitely tell that she doesn't feel well.

The doctor said to give her tylenol every 4-5 hours and to keep her hydrated.

Anything else you can do to help a toddler with a fever? I hate feeling so helpless!
